Travelle is the signature restaurant at the Langham hotel in Chicago. Located in the former IBM Tower designed by master architect Mies van der Rohe, the restaurant’s design pays homage to Mies’ Modernist style as well as the Information Age.
Free-flowing spaces, floating rectilinear forms, and a material palette of travertine, onyx, and bronze are the foundation of the restaurant. Digital artwork and computer-generated patterns are found throughout – a nod to the building’s history. The bar lounge channels a glamorous ‘Mad Men’ atmosphere with a mix of mid-century custom and vintage furniture pieces. Custom bar carts bring tableside cocktail service, celebrating the romance of the mid-century era while tying it uniquely to Chicago of today.
Partnering with Art Production Fund and Langham Chicago, the art collection at Travelle includes established and emerging artists such as: Yorgo Alexopoulos, Chris Dorland, Peter Halley, Miltos Manetas, and Julian Opie.
